Human Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy and healing human patients are where Stride Forward started, and it still forms the foundation of the work we do. Working for the NHS, Holly witnessed first-hand the key role physiotherapy plays in a patient’s recovery and rehabilitation. Working alongside the Portsmouth Rugby Club, she gained valuable insight into the demands placed on the human body and how, through physiotherapy, performance levels can not only be restored and maintained, but drastically improved upon.

Whether you are recovering from an injury, suffering from a muscular or neurological condition, or are an athlete looking to maintain and improve your performance levels, physiotherapy could be a viable and beneficial solution. Holly’s background and wealth of experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy make her a specialist in injury prevention, rehabilitation, and post-operative care.

Some of the most common issues we treat include –

  • Work-related injury
  • Sporting injury
  • Arthritis
  • Back & lower back pain
  • Neck pain and injuries, including whiplash

When you book an appointment with us, each session begins with an informal discussion. We get an overview of the current problem, as well as your medical history and any previous injuries/conditions. Following that, we would commence our assessment, where we would perform both manual and posture exercises, observing how your body responds. Once we have identified the problem, we will begin treatment immediately.

We use a range of manual and electrotherapy techniques, but our most common treatments are –

  • Joint mobilisation
  • Functional rehabilitation
  • Soft tissue mobilisation
  • Deep tissue massage
  • Sports massage therapy
  • Taping techniques
  • Muscle stimulation

Once our session is concluded, we will issue you with a full report and a detailed exercise and rehabilitation programme, which you can do at home. We would also offer advice on any long-term management and book further physiotherapy sessions if required.

If you have been advised by your doctor to see a physiotherapist or you are in pain and feel you would benefit from physiotherapy, then please do not hesitate to get in touch via our contact page.
