Holly Stuart

Holly qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2017, receiving her first-class honours BSc in human physiotherapy from the University of Southampton

As soon as she graduated, she put her skills to use, working for the NHS where she specialised in musculoskeletal outpatients. Whilst excelling in this full-time position she also spent five years as a sports physio for the Portsmouth Rugby Club. Working closely with the team she gained invaluable knowledge and insight of the physical and psychological demands placed on a competitive athlete.

No stranger to competitive sport herself, Holly has been a rider from a young age and has competed at a national level in dressage and showjumping events. During this time, she became acutely aware of the strength of the bond between the horse and rider, gaining a deeper understanding of the physical and mental demands that are required from both. This realisation, combined with her passion for animals, drove her to Veterinary Physiotherapy. In 2020, she completed her MSC in Veterinary Physiotherapy at Hartpury University and immediately set up her own business – Stride Forward Physiotherapy, where she provides specialist, attentive treatment for humans, equines, canines, and felines.

Alongside her private client base, Holly also provides treatment and consultation services for several businesses and organisations including an MSK clinic and a world-renowned private veterinary practice that excels in the treatment of orthopaedic, neurological, oncological, and soft tissue conditions.

Thanks to her years spent working with riders to improve weakness, recover from injury and getting them back in the saddle, and her wealth of experience in the field of Veterinary Physiotherapy, Holly has recently been appointed the Team Physiotherapist for the Team GB Youth Endurance Squad. Working alongside the riders, vets, farriers, grooms, and support team, providing world class care and advice before and during international competitions.

Holly has dedicated her life to healing both humans and animals. It is a cause she is incredibly passionate about, which is clear to see, not only from her results but in her approach to treating every client. To put it in her own words –

“Every patient I see is unique. I love to watch my clients progress and achieve results through physiotherapy. Knowing I have had a positive impact on their well-being and getting to be part of their journey towards recovery is a truly incredible feeling.”
